Which Toyota SUV Is Better: Land Cruiser or Sequoia?

Land Cruiser

If you are looking for a used Japanese vehicles like Land Cruiser Prado and have seen the Toyota Sequoia, then you must be in a quandary. Should you consider the larger SUV instead?

The Toyota Sequoia is the widest and largest of all Toyota SUVs.  You get more leg room, comfort, and a choice between a 2 wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive (4WD). Unlike the Prado which is a permanent 4 wheel drive, the Sequoia’s 4WD is not permanent. You can only find the Sequoia in countries like the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Middle East, Chile, and Puerto Rico.

Even as a second-hand unit, the used Land Cruiser Prado will offer you features like the crawl control and better off-road advantage.  This means you can control your speed whether you are driving up or down a steep road.  Inside the Prado, you will feel like you are in the lap of luxury. It has a touch screen for satellite navigation, audio, SUV set-up, climate functions. Everything has been designed to make it easy to drive with controls that are at your fingertips in logical order. Fuel consumption is good although the torque could use some improvement especially if you have 8 adults in the vehicle.

The 4.6 liter Toyota Sequoia is also a V8 but with less comfort on rough roads. It is more stylish than the Prado and this can be the clincher along with the lower price.

With more features, the Land Cruiser has a higher resale value. This means that a used Land Cruiser Prado will most probably be more expensive than the Sequoia. If you have no reason to travel over dirt roads and tough terrain, you will be happy with a Toyota Sequoia but be  limited in your movements. It is a big car. The used Prado is your city/rough road car that can handle almost anything.  According to most car experts, they would spend on a used Land Cruiser Prado instead of a Toyota Sequoia because you really can’t beat the comfort, luxury and durability of this SUV.

Driving a SUV in Japan

japanese suvDespite Japan being the leading car makers of the world, it is worth noting that not many Japanese citizens have the pleasure and class that comes with driving harriers. Used Toyota Harrier for sale now dots the streets of Japan.  It still does remain a status car and a lot of people view it with the contempt it does not deserve. Used Toyota Harrier for sale is definitely a touch of class even though the first SUV’s were launched in the year 2003 but hit the streets of Japan in the two years later in 2005. They did hit Japan with a bang!   And they are there to stay as Japanese are car lovers. And not only cars but good cars.

Japan now export a lot of cars around the world and it is worth noting that most of these cars are well maintained and do come from the factory with clean bill of health certification. The Japanese due to the nature of their roads and taxes try to clear away from such big cars as their tax rates are higher and their fuel consumption is even higher.  For efficiency reasons and due to the parking space which is a must for every car owner in Japan to have, the Japanese prefer cars that easy to handle and can find their way easily along their streets.

The need to understand why a lot of cars are imported from Japan is imperative.  The Japanese government imposes taxes on cars that have been on the road for at-least five years.  New cars are relatively free and are not taxed.  So car buyers prefer going for the friendly to use cars which they can dispose of sooner than later in exchange of a new car.  Shaken is a kind of taxed or payment always imposed on cars that have been on the road for at least three years.  So next time you buy a Japanese car, it is worth noting that they sell their goes before incurring the Shaken charges in a bid to beat the tax-man at their game.
